Karyakarta Mahakumbha: World's biggest political show?

BJP claims congregation will host more than 700,000 party workers

BJP, the ruling party in Madhya Pradesh, today claimed that Bhopal is going to host world’s biggest political show ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ (party workers congregation) in which more than 700,000 party workers will participate.

“This would be the world’s biggest political show of a single party. We have expected ten workers each from all 53,000 polling booths but now the number has gone up and there will be more than seven lakh workers,” Kailash Vijayvergiya, state industry minister said here and confirmed that Narendra Modi and veteran party leader L K Advani will share the dias.

senior leader Uma Bharti will also be present on the occasion. He, did not confirm as to what is the base of the party’s claim. “We are now slightly late and missed to inform the Guinness Book of World Record,” he said.

However he did not disclose who will speak first or who will sit where in accordance with the party protocol. “Our senior leader Anant Kumar will decide about it,” the minister said adding, “the party workers will take an oath before the central leadership to ensure that Shivraj Singh Chouhan will form the government in forth coming elections for a third consecutive term.”

On why they will take oath, the minister said, “The congregation will affirm its victory in forthcoming elections to pave a way that the BJP will form the government at the Centre and Narendra Modi will be the prime minister.”

The minister though alleged that congress was making false allegations that the BJP has incurred expenses of millions of rupees in organizing ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ but refused to disclose the exact amount of expense. “We will disclose once the programme is concluded.”

The BJP state unit had announced last year to organise the mega congregation. It also organized a similar but smaller programme in Gwalior this year and declared that the show would take place on 25th of September.
