Kejriwal should sack his Law Minister: Harsh Vardhan

Vardhan said his behaviour with the police and even with the media was not appropriate

Press Trust of India New Delhi
BJP leader Harsh Vardhan today demanded that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal sack Law Minister Somnath Bharti for his "undignified" behaviour.

Claiming that the newly elected Law Minister's conduct has been continuously inappropriate, Vardhan said, "He revealed the name of the Danish woman who was gangraped here which is just unacceptable. The Law Minister should resign or else Kejriwal should sack him."

Vardhan raked up the recent spat between Bharti and Delhi Police and asserted that his behaviour with the police and even with the media was not appropriate.

"If he cannot respect the constitutional bodies, being a minister, he doesn't have the right to humiliate anyone. And Arvind Kejriwal who has been constantly talking about cleaning the political system, he first took the support of Congress to make his government and is now defending his minister," he said.

Bharti has accused Delhi Police of not acting against an alleged sex and drug racket despite repeated complaints while Women and Child Development Rakhi Birla had alleged that police were refusing to arrest a family which had set their daughter-in-law on fire.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal defending his ministers yesterday has accused Delhi Police of being "highly compromised" and failing to ensure the safety of people of the national capital.
