Kerala government is planning a total overhaul of ailing Kerala State Road Transport Corporation by making a comprehensive plan to increase its revenue and reduce expenses, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said here today.
"KSRTC cannot move forward in the present form with the government's financial support for payment of salaries, pensions and day-to-day affairs," he told reporters after a Cabinet meeting.
The government's idea is to go in for a total overhaul for which he sought the support and co-operation of the employees.

Chandy, however, made it clear that the process would not involve retrenchment of workers or cutting their allowances.
"A comprehensive plan is being worked out to increase revenue and reduce expenses," he said, adding a meeting has been convened on June 9 to discuss the issues of KSRTC.
