Left parties here would stage a demonstration on July 15 to condemn the 'anti-people' railway and general budgets of the Central government.

Secretary of the Puducherry State committee of CPI R Viswanathan and his CPI (M) counterpart V Perumal in a joint release today said the budget projected no solutions to tackle inflation and poverty gripping the common man.

They dubbed the general budget as "most disappointing" and one which demonstrates the "anti people" attitude of the new dispensation'.

The railway budget let down Puducherry as there was no promise of new railway lines to link Puducherry through Cuddalore and Tindivanam.

They said the announcement of Rs 188 crore made in the budget for disaster management in Puducherry was only a part of a package announced by the previous government.
