Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on Monday again hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue of demonetisation. Gandhi said the lockers of 15-20 people close to the Prime Minister will be filled.
"The lockers of 15-20 people close of the Prime Minister will be filled, their loans will be writen off. The selected ones will get the cash. The poor ones who are standing (in queues) will have to pay a price for it," Gandhi said.
Gandhi visited several ATMs in the national capital in the morning where he interacted with people standing in long queues to withdraw new currency.
"Wherever I went today I saw people are in great pain. They said we are standing in queue and bank is giving money to a few from the backdoor," he said.
He took a dig at Modi saying, "Pradhan Mantri ko Parliament mein aane ki zaroorat kya hai? Aaj kal Pradhan Mantri toh doosre level pe hain. Wo (PM Modi) na apne mantriyon se poochte hain, na kisi se baat karte hain, jo unko jee mein aata hai kar dete hain. (What is the need for the Prime Minister to come to Parliament? He is at another level these days. He neither consults his ministers nor talks to anyone. He does whatever he feels like."
Claiming it to be one of the big economic decisions in the history of the nation, Gandhi said he just consulted three-four people without any management or thinking about the repercussions. "These days, he is not the Prime Minister; this is another form that he has assumed. We cannot call him a super prime minister and need to find a new work to define him."
He also attacked the Prime Minister over Sunday's derailment of the Indore-Patna Express train near Kanpur. "The Prime Minister gave speeches on bullet trains... why didn't he talk about maintenance of railway tracks and the safety," Gandhi said.
