Low-intensity bomb explodes in Madurai

The owner of the car has been identified as Akbar Ali, an advocate

A low-intensity explosive device planted in a stationary car exploded in Madurai on Wednesday.

The explosion occurred in East Veli Street near Nelpettai, local media reports said.

Police are investigating the incident and added that no one was injured in the explosion.

They said they have recovered two batteries from the spot and collected the damaged parts from the Indica car for examination.

The owner of the car has been identified as Akbar Ali, an advocate.
