Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today directed the commissioner and district magistrate of Muzaffarnagar to make prompt arrangements for free medical treatment of those injured in the violence.
The Chief Minister asked the officials to be in touch with those affected and prepare a list of those whose houses had been damaged in the violence so that financial assistance could be provided to them, an official spokesman said here.
Akhilesh had earlier announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to kin of those killed and Rs 50,000 to those critically injured in the violence.
