Mandali elected Deputy Speaker of AP Assembly

Mandali has been elected to the Assembly for the third time from Avanigadda constituency

Senior legislator Mandali Buddha Prasad has been unanimously elected as Deputy Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao announced Mandali's election in the House today.

Mandali, who inherited his late father Venkata Krishna Rao's political legacy, has been elected to the Assembly for the third time from Avanigadda constituency in Krishna district. He had also served as a minister in the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy government.

Mandali joined the Telugu Desam Party on the eve of the recent elections, protesting the Congress' decision to bifurcate the state.

He had also served as Chairman of AP Official Language Commission.
 

Leader of the House N Chandrababu Naidu, Leader of Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, ministers and legislators congratulated Mandali on his election as Deputy Speaker.
