Charging that there has been a spurt in crime cases in UP after the Lok Sabha polls, BSP supremo Mayawati today demanded a CBI probe into the gangrape and murder of two Dalit sisters in Badaun district.

Mayawati also demanded that President's Rule be imposed in the state.

"The Centre should order a CBI probe into the gangrape and murder of two girls of Shakya (Dalit) community", she told reporters here.

Mayawati said, "Law and order situation is pathetic. In such a scenario, the Governor should make recommendation for President's rule in the state".

Attacking the Samajwadi Party, Mayawati alleged that SP had joined hands with BJP to "polarise" voters but the plan could not help it.

To a question, she said, "I consider Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav's development talk as a mere crude joke".

On the power crisis in the state, the BSP supremo said power has been restricted to the native village and parliamentary constituencies represented by the SP.

"Bad days are in store for the common man", she said.
