Narmada Bachao Aandolan leader Medha Patkar on Monday pledged her support to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) but refrained from joining the party.

Patkar, who was associated with anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare in his campaign for Lok Pal, said she would continue to work as an AAP’s associate and participate in its agitations and programmes. Patkar said the agitation for the common man should continue. AAP founder and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is quite efficient and capable leader. She said people would be further mobilised with AAP’s association in Maharashtra.

Patkar showered praises on Kejriwal and AAP, saying the party was functioning while keeping the aam aadmi at the centre. She said AAP has been strongly against corruption and VIP culture.
