Mizoram government asked for Rs 75.83 crore for establishment of additional districts to the Fourteenth Finance Commission but did not receive any fund under the State Specific Needs, state finance minister Lalsawta today informed the assembly.
Lalsawta, replying to a query from Lalruatkima of the Mizo National Front (MNF) said that no states in the country received fund under the state specific needs. The appeal for allocation of fund was made without naming any proposal for a specific district.
He said that the state government sought Rs 122.20 crore assistance from the Fourteenth Finance Commission for the establishment of Lokayukta, but the commission did not provide any fund for the purpose.
He said that the state government still proposed to establish the Lokayukta during the current fiscal.
