Modi to address overseas friends of BJP in US

Modi will be addressing their convention in Tampa on September 21 through satellite

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will address party supporters and members of the Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP) during its annual convention in Tampa later this month as part of his efforts to garner support ahead of 2014 general elections.

In a statement, OFBJP, a US body whose members associate themselves with, and support the BJP in India, said Modi will be addressing their convention in Tampa on September 21 through satellite.

The convention, to be attended by Indian-Americans and OFBJP from across the country, will deliberate on harnessing the latest technology and social media tools in support of the BJP, said Chandrakant Patel, OFBJP's in-coming president.
 

The theme of the conference is 'Mission 2014: BJP 272+'.

The three-day conference from September 20 is scheduled to be inaugurated by BJP Vice President Smriti Irani.
