MP Polls: Shivraj, Ajay file nomination

Both leaders to contest in polls slated on November 25

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today filed his nomination papers for the November 25 assembly elections from Budhni constituency in Sehore district.

Chouhan who has already won twice from Budhni seat, was accompanied by his two sons, Sehore district BJP President, Rajkumar Bhati at the time of filing the nomination.

He will later leave for Jabalpur to attend the last rites of Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker, Ishwar Das Rohani who passed away earlier in the day following a heart attack.

November 1 was the first day of filing of nominations for the elections. The last date for filing nominations is November 8 and withdrawals would be allowed till November 11.
 

Meanwhile, leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Ajay Singh today filed his nomination papers from Churhat constituency in Sidhi district for the upcoming Assembly elections.

The state is slated to go for polls on November 25.

Ajay filed his papers around noon in the office of SDM Churhat and was accompanied by a large number of Congress workers.

He was elected from Churhat for the first time in 1985 and since then, he has won all elections from there.

The only time he lost was in 1993 when he had contested against Sunderlal Patwa of the BJP from the Bhojpur constituency in Raisen district.
