Newly-appointed MPCC president Arun Yadav will take charge of his office tomorrow in the presence of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, party sources said today.

Rahul is arriving in the state capital to attend a programme 'Samvad' (dialogue), organised by All India Mahila Congress president Shobha Ojha.

Besides taking part in 'Samvad', Rahul will also interact with the party candidates who won and lost the recent Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, sources said.

Yadav, along with Leader of Opposition in MP Assembly Satyadev Katare and Ojha, arrived here last night. The partymen accorded a warm welcome to the newly appointed state Congress president.

Katare said Rahul will take part in two programmes during his Bhopal visit, including 'Samvad' and interaction with Congressmen at the state party office.

MP Congress unit spokesman Ravi Saxena confirmed that Rahul will be present in the party office when Yadav will take charge of his new assignment.

Yadav told reporters last night that a lot of changes will be made in the state party organisation and that his primary challenge at present is the Lok Sabha polls.

He said besides retaining the present 12 out of the total 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh, he would also strive hard to raise the party's tally.

Rahul will interact with around 250 women representatives on the issue of social, economic and political empowerment of women. The outcome of the meeting will be incorporated in the Congress manifesto for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, the sources said.

Meanwhile, in view of Rahul's visit, the state police have made elaborate security arrangements by deploying over 1,000 policemen.

Bhopal Deputy Inspector General (DIG) D Sriniwas Varma and Superintendent of Police (SP) North, Arvind Saxena said since Rahul is a Special Protection Group (SPG) protectee, the state police have been entrusted with the responsibility of providing outer security to the leader.
