Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that opposition Congress was suffering from "Shivraj phobia" as it is levelling "baseless" allegations of wrongdoings against him in connection with the state examination and recruitment scam.

Responding to allegations made against him by the Congress in connection with the Professional Examination Board and PSC recruitment scams, the Chief Minister told reporters last evening before leaving for Gwalior that the opposition party "was suffering from a phobia about him".

"Earlier also Congress leaders had levelled baseless charges but in the end they turned out to be false and misleading," he said.

Chouhan said that Congress has become frustrated following a string of electoral defeats and its leaders are levelling such charges against him only to stay relevant.

Congress had last week accused Chouhan and his family members of being involved in the MPPEB scam, related to recruitment in various government jobs and also in the Pre-Medical Test (PMT).

The Chief Minister had already rubbished all allegations and even filed a defamation suit against state Congress chief spokesperson, K K Mishra for levelling "baseless" allegations against him and his wife.

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson, Brijendra Singh Sisodia today said, "They (allegations) be treated in the same way as the Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi had torn an ordinance (on shielding convicted politicians) stating that it should be consigned to dust bin".
