Muzaffarnagar incident rocks UP assembly

State parliamentary affairs minister Mohd Azam Khan alleged conspiracy behind the communal tension even hinting towards BJP

The inaugural day of Uttar Pradesh assembly’s monsoon session got washed out in the din surrounding the recent Muzaffarnagar riots.
 
The opposition members viz. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) castigated the state government on its inept handling of the riots.
 
The communal tension had claimed several lives and led to displacement of thousands of people from their villages.

 
UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav had visited the riot hit district yesterday, while prime minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Congress general secretary followed suit today.
 
 
No sooner did the house assemble around 1100 hrs, the opposition legislators trooped to its well holding placards containing slogans slamming the government.
