Naveen Patnaik to address people through radio like Narendra Modi

Till date, people in Odisha had been listening to the 'Mann Ki Baat' of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Now, the people would listen to the "Mann Ki Baat" of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister here on Wednesday, the state government decided to launch 'Biju Gaon Radio' through which the Chief Minister would connect with the people in rural areas.

The Chief Minister's 10-minute message 'Apananka Pain' (message for you) will be broadcast once in a month in Odia language.

The rural connectivity programme aims to educate people on agriculture, health, sanitation and culture related issues, said an official.

 

The community radio programme would be launched through 32 Krishi Vigyan Kendras set up by the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) in various districts, said the official.

The state government would fund for setting up of community radio centres in different KVKs.

"The main objective of the scheme is to educate farmers about the new technology in agriculture and farm mechanisation in their own language and dialects," said Surendranath Pasupalak, Vice-Chancellor of OUAT.
