Claiming that there is no Modi wave in the country, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today reiterated that Samajwadi Party would play a vital role in installing a Third Front government at the Centre.

"There is no Modi wave anywhere in the country... Samajwadi Party will play a vital role in installing a Third Front government at the Centre," Akhilesh told reporters in Fatehpur during a surprise visit to districts to take stock of the condition of roads and hospitals among other things.

In Banda, Akhilesh visited the district hospital and asked patients about medical care they are getting there. He also visited the district jail where he talked to officials and inmates about the facilities and amenities.

At the under-construction medical college building on Bharaini Road, he expressed dissatisfaction over the slow progress of construction work and held senior officials responsible for the delay. Stating that Rs 100 crore have been allocated for the purpose, Yadav said no senior official has visited the construction site even once.

Talking to reporters in Fatehpur, Yadav indicated that he was aware that officials have tried to take special measures to clean the roads and hospitals in view of his visit.

Citing various achievements of his government, he said they have laid focus on building roads, enhancing power production and setting up food grains purchase centres.
