No suggestions received by committees on communal harmony: CM

The question was raised by BSP member Dharmpal Singh who expressed surprise as to how suggestions were not given in the meetings

Uttar Pradesh government today said that no suggestions have been received so far in the meetings of district integration committees, formed to maintain communal harmony in the state.

"The national integration department of the state has constituted district integration committees to maintain communal harmony. A number of meetings of these committees have been held but no suggestions have come in them," Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav informed the Assembly in a written reply.

The question was raised by BSP member Dharmpal Singh who expressed surprise as to how suggestions were not given in the meetings.

"How can this be possible that meetings are held and suggestions have not come to maintain communal harmony," Singh asked.
 

Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey, however, intervened and said that many a times meetings end with discussions and no suggestions were given.
