Condemning the blasts in Bihar that left six people dead, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said democracy is a battle of ideas and ideologies where violence has no place.

"The forthcoming elections should be a battle of ideas & ideologies, where violence like today's (Sunday) has no place," Omar wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter last night.

The Chief Minister said though law and order is the responsibility of the states, every "right thinking" person must condemn the attacks on democracy.

"While states are responsible for security and law & order it is every right thinking person's responsibility to condemn attacks on democracy," Omar said.

Six persons were killed and 83 injured in the seven low intensity serial blasts of which six bombs went off in and around the venue of BJP Prime Ministerial nominee Narendra Modi's rally in Bihar's capital Patna yesterday.
