PM Modi greets nation on 'Vijaya Dashmi'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday greeted the nation on Vijaya Dashmi.

"Greetings and best wishes on the auspicious occasion of Vijaya Dashmi," Modi tweeted.

 Vijaya Dashmi, also called Dussehra, marks the culmination of 10-day long festival Navratri, in which Goddess Durga is worshipped.

It is also believed to be the day when Lord Ram defeated Ravana, and is celebrated as a festival of victory of good on evil.

He also wished BJP President Amit Shah on his birthday.

"Birthday greetings to BJP President Amit Shah. His contribution to the Party is immense. I pray for his long life & good health," the prime minister said in another tweet.
