'PM urged to resolve stapled visa issue with China'

The matter needs to be resolved urgently to foster good relations with China

Union Minister from Arunachal Pradesh Ninong Ering has urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to immediately resolve the issue of stapled visa, given to the people of the state, with the Chinese government.

Ering raised the issue in a meeting with the Prime Minister in New Delhi on Monday, official sources here said.

"I often face embarrassing situations when my brethren in Arunachal Pradesh enquire about this issue. This matter needs to be resolved urgently to foster good relations with China and the people of my state are also eagerly waiting for such a time," the Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs said in a memorandum to the Prime Minister.
