Pratyusha Rajeswari Singh on Thursday filed her nomination papers before the returning officer at Phulbani as the BJD candidate for the ensuing by-election for the Kandhamal Lok Sabha seat to be held on October 15. Samira Kumar Kar, an independent candidate also filed the nomination papers. With this, two nomination papers have been filed so far for the by-election, official sources said. The last date of filing of nomination is Friday.
Accompanied by several ministers and ruling party MLAs, Pratusha, wife of the deceased MP Hemendra Chandra Singh, reached near the district collectors' office in a huge procession to file the nomination papers. She filed three sets of nomination.
