PWD takes up conversion of bituminous roads in Arunachal

It is in pavement for improving surface communication in a phased manner

In tune with the Arunachal Pradesh government's commitment, the Public Works Department (PWD) has taken up conversion of flexible (bituminous) roads in Itanagar, Naharlagun and Nirjuli to rigid (cement concrete) pavement for improving surface communication in a phased manner.

The rigid pavement works under Phase-I (16 kms) has already been awarded and the execution of work shall be taken up soon at the end of the ongoing monsoon season, PWD superintendent engineer (Capital Division) informed in a release.

Similarly the rigid pavement works under phase-II (6 kms) had also been sanctioned and tender process is in progress and its execution would also be taken up in September next, the release said.
 

The SE further informed that construction of rigid pavement for various other roads of entire 300kms of capital road network would be taken up in similar pattern either wholly or partly as per the availability of resource.
