Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi will visit Maharashtra on February 28 and March 1 in a serious bid to charge up party workers in the run up to the Lok Sabha polls.

“The details of Rahul's proposed visit are being finalised. He will address interactive meetings, rallies and participate in road shows,” Congress general secretary in charge of Maharashtra, Mohan Prakash told Business Standard on Friday.

This is Rahul's third visit to Maharashtra in the last six months and the first after the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) finalised the 26:22 seat-sharing formula for the state.

Party insiders admit that Rahul's visit would certainly help in burying intra-party differences and thereby put up a united show during the general elections. The Congress had swept the 2009 polls by winning five seats in Mumbai while the NCP had won the remaining seat.
