Raje seeks inclusion of Jats in OBC central list

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has requested Union government to include Jat community of Bhartpur and Dholpur district in Other Backward Class (OBC) central list.

She wrote a letter to the Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Mallikarjun Kharge recently in this regard, according to a statement here.

Raje mentioned that the Jats of those two districts were not in the OBC central list and hence they were not getting advantage of OBC reservation for Central government jobs and requested him to cover them under the OBC central list, the release said.

She also mentioned that the Jat community were included in OBC since 2000 and they were getting reservation benefits in the state.
