Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh Monday resumed his Vikas Yatra in a specially-designed Rath (chariot) to canvass his nine-and-a-half-year achievements in government.

The Yatra got off from the insurgency-hit Dantewada on May 6 and had travelled around 2500 kilometers when Naxal violence put brake. After the deadly Naxal attack on Congress leaders in Darba on May 25, Singh suspended his Yatra.

After nearly three months, the show started Monday when Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj kicked off the Yatra from Arang near here.

This would be the last phase of the Vikas Yatra in which Bilaspur and Sarguja districts would be covered. Around 1500 kilometers would be covered till September 7 when the Yatra would conclude in Ambikapur-the divisional headquarters of Sarguja.

During the Yatra, the chief minister had been announcing and dedicating number of projects related to welfare and infrastructure development.
