Rashtriya Lok Dal has said it will strongly push the proposal for a separate Harit Pradesh if the Telangana bill is passed in Parliament.

The party will also put pressure on the Congress high-command for the state, RLD General Secretary and MP Jayant Chaudhary said at a wedding function here last night.

Non-payment of the dues of sugarcane farmers worth Rs 2,400 crore and not raising the remunerative price of sugarcane indicate that the SP government is not bothered about the farmers, he told reporters.

RLD will organise a 'Kisan Maharally' here on December 23 to raise the farmers' demands, he said.

Chaudhary also expressed hope that the announcement for granting reservation to Jats in government jobs is expected anytime before the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Late Chaudhary Charan Singh.

He said RLD will jointly contest with Congress in the Lok Sabha polls.

He also dismissed any possibility of the election results of the four states - Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh - to impact the Lok Sabha elections.
