Scrutiny of nominations for assembly elections in Rajasthan are taking place today.
In all, 2979 candidates have filed nominations for contesting the elections. The last day for the filing of nominations was Tuesday, and 1724 candidates, including 253 women, had filed their nominations. Saturday (November 16) is the last date for withdrawal of nominations.
In Chhattisgarh, political parties are preparing for the second phase of elections.
Public meetings and campaigns by prominent leaders and star campaigners have begun in different parts of the state.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi addressed public meetings in Ambikapur and Bhilai on Tuesday. BJP president Rajnath Singh addressed public meetings at Bhatgaon, Pratappur and Baikunthpur.
In Madhya Pradesh, Deputy Election Commissioner Sudhir Tripathi will undertake a two-day tour of the state from today to review poll preparations.

In Mizoram, with just 12 days left for assembly polls, electioneering activities are peaking. In all, 142 candidates will contest elections to secure seats in the 40-member Mizoram state assembly.
In Delhi, 32 candidates filed their nominations on Tuesday, taking the total number of nominations to 55. November 16 is the last day for the filing of nominations. Scrutiny of nominations will take place on November 18, and withdrawal of nominations can be done by November 20.
Polling for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held on December 4.
