Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has decided to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister-Designate Devendra Fadnavis today, party MP Vinayank Raut said.

The decision comes after BJP president Amit Shah rang up Thackeray.

Earlier, only Aditya Thackeray and some Sena leaders were supposed to attend the ceremony.

Shah is believed to have argued that Uddhav's presence is quite crucial as the efforts betweeen BJP and Shiv Sena for the alliance are underway.

Ealier, Thackeray had deputed some party representatives to attend today's swearing-in function. This is a complete U-turn from Shiv Sena's stand of complete boycott.

Shah's move comes close on the heels of Shiv Sena MP Anil Desai met him in New Delhi last night. He seems to have also clarified that it  was not possible for BJP to accomodate Shiv Sena members in the state cabinet though all efforts are being made to make Shiv Sena party to the BJP led government.

Shiv Sena, which has won 63 seats, had demanded the post of deputy chief minister and ministerial berth to 13 other members of the party in the Fadnavis led council of ministers.

However, due to lack of agreement, Shiv Sena later pressed for giving ministerial berths to at least two party legislators. That was also not considered and thereafter party on Thursday had announced to skip today's swearing in function.
