Six new minister inducted in Narendra Modi cabinet

Among those inducted include former Congress MLA Jayesh Radadiya, who had joined BJP along with his father Vitthal Radadiya in March this year

Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi on Friday inducted six new minister of state in his council of ministers taking the total strength of cabinet to 23 from existing 17.

The new ministers were administered the oath of office at a ceremony held in Gandhinagar by Gujarat Governor Kamla Beniwal, in presence of Modi and several other senior party leaders.

Among those inducted today include former Congress MLA Jayesh Radadiya, who had joined BJP along with his father Vitthal Radadiya in March this year.

Vithal Radadia, former Congress MP from Porbandar, switched to BJP earlier this year. In the by-election, he retained Porbandar Lok Sabha seat on BJP ticket while Jayesh Radadia won from Jetpur Assembly constituency on the saffron party ticket.
 

Others included Vasan Ahir MLA from Anjar in Kutch district. Ahir was minister of state in the previous Modi government, but was not given a cabinet birth in the new government in December 2012. MLAs Chhatrasinh Mori (from Jambusar), Jashvantsinh Bhabhor (Limkheda), Jaydrathsinh Parmar (Halol) and Dilipsinh Thakor (Chanasma) were also sworn in as minister of state.
