Union Minister Shashi Tharoor's wife Sunanda Pushkar, who died Friday night, had "injury marks" on her body and it is a "case of unnatural, sudden death", one of the doctors who conducted the autopsy said.

"On post mortem examination we can say that it is a case of unnatural sudden death. There were certain injury marks on the body but we can't divulge details at this point," said Sudhir Kumar Gupta, a doctor.

"We will conclude our report and opinion in a couple of days," he added.

Sunanda Pushkar was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her room inside suite no 345 at The Leela Palace hotel in south Delhi Friday.

Her death came barely 24 hours after she and Shashi Tharoor declared they were "happily married" following public airing of tweets that hinted at an extra-marital relationship and alleged involvement of a Pakistani journalist, Mehr Tarar.

Investigators said they are screening the call details record of Pushkar as well as her tweets in the last few days. Her ipad and iphone have also been collected by the investigators to ascertain who she was in touch with before her death.

They said a number of hotel staff, including those who had gone to the suite, were being questioned to corroborate the version of Tharooor and his staff.

The police is also searching the suite thoroughly to see whether Pushkar had used any medicine, they said. She is reported to have been under severe emotional turmoil as well as physical ailments like Lupus and stomach TB.

Meanwhile, Shashi Tharoor, minister of state for human resource, was hospitalised after he complained of chest pain early on Saturday, a day after his wife Sunanda Pushkar was found dead in a hotel here. He was discharged by noon.
