India TV-C Voter pre-poll survey has predicted a victory for the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala and the Trinamool Congress to retain power in West Bengal. It has found that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led alliance in Assam would emerge as the single largest block while the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) will be the single largest party in Tamil Nadu.
It has predicted that the BJP-led alliance will fall short of majority in Assam. In a more surprising prediction, the poll claimed the Left Front will recover some of the lost ground in Bengal.
India TV-C Voter said the survey in Assam was conducted before Asom Gana Parishad and BJP tie-up was announced. The BJP-led alliance in the survey results includes Bodo People's Front. While the survey didn't specify this, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)-Congress alliance in Tamil Nadu is in talks with Vijaykanth-led Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK). Such an alliance can potentially dent Jayalalithaa-led AIADMK's prospects of returning to power.
