3 August 2012: Team Anna announces the formation of a political party
26 November 2012: Aam Aadmi Party formally launched by party convenor Arvind Kejriwal; eminent lawyer Shanti Bhushan makes first donation of Rs 1 crore
3 December 2012: Application for registration of political party made to Election Commission
22 March 2013: AAP gets registration from the Election Commission; no symbol issued
15 April 2013: Party announces it will contest the Delhi Assembly elections; invites nominations
31 July 2013: EC approves "broom" as election symbol
3 August 2013: Party's political symbol "broom" officially launched
4 December 2013: Party goes to poll in all 70 constituencies
8 December 2013: Fractured mandate as no political party gets majority; AAP wins 28 seats
