A story hinting at the likely exit of chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy ahead of the state bifurcation process by a Telugu television news channel created a mild political flutter on Thursday.
While there are fresh speculations each day in vernacular media on state bifurcation as well as the future course of the chief minister, the difference about this report is it was aired by the TV channel that is said to have been acquired by one of his family members.
The TV channel has also named agriculture minister Kanna Laxminarayana as his likely successor according to the wishes of the party high command.
This created a sudden commotion in the political and media circles. However, by afternoon a batch of ministers clarified there was no truth in the report. They spoke to media after meeting with the chief minister.
