Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray’s controversial will is believed to have united estranged cousins and political rivals Uddhav and Raj. The meeting, which took place at Uddhav’s Matoshree residence in northwest Mumbai, lasted for a record 90 minutes. Raj was not accompanied by anyone.
Although the Shiv Sena and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) said Raj had gone to wish Uddhav, who celebrated his birthday two days ago, they were believed to have discussed a sensational claim by Uddhav Thackeray's older brother, Jaidev Thackeray, which has added a new twist to the battle over the will.
Last week, Jaidev said in court that his son, Aishwarya, was not really his. Jaidev dropped the bombshell while being cross-examined in court by his brother’s lawyer. Both Uddhav and Raj might soon visit Jaidev to bring about a compromise on the feud.
