BJP today asked the Centre to come out with a policy document on China and restore the confidence of Indian people, who it said are wary of the government's soft diplomacy towards Beijing.
'UPA government should come out with a policy document with regard to China and restore the confidence of Indian nation which is wary of Government's soft diplomacy leading to enhanced vulnerability,' BJP National Executive Member and J-K chief spokesperson Jitendra Singh said here today.
He said that repeated Chinese incursions into India's northern territory are a part of 'Chinese policy to exploit confusion over the Line of Actual Control (LAC).'

Singh said, 'Chinese mischief was visible as early as in 1950s itself but the then Prime Minister Nehru was too enamoured by the romantic hype of Hindi-Chini Bhai Bhai.'
Alleging that there were no lessons learnt even after 1962 war, Singh said the term 'LAC' was allowed to gain legal recognition through Sino-Indian agreements signed in 1993 and 1996.
In spite of all these agreements, BJP spokesman said the Chinese continue to revel in confusion over LAC and even after the three week standoff between Indian and Chinese troops 30 km southeast of Daulat Beg Oldi earlier this year, 'the Chinese troops are regularly intruding into Indian territory and also committing a human rights violation by causing fear among the local population on Indian side'.
