MLAs belonging to YSR Congress today complained to Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar that some media persons allegedly "manhandled" them at the Media Point on the Assembly premises when they went to address the media.

Speaker Manohar directed the police authorities to go through the closed-circuit camera footage to establish the facts and identify the guilty.

The Media Point turned into a virtual battle ground with some Telangana legislators trying to prevent their Seemaandhra colleagues from addressing the media after the House was adjourned the second time following the tabling of the draft Bill on creation of Telangana.

As some TDP MLAs from Seemaandhra tore copies of the draft Bill, TRS MLAs pushed the former away and virtually tried to punch them.

Police intervened and prevented a fight but there was heavy jostling at the Media Point.

Later when a group of YSRC MLAs reached the spot to address the media, some reporters and cameramen belonging to a TV channel and a newspaper from Telangana allegedly manhandled them and tried to prevent them from addressing the media.

Following this, the YSRC legislators rushed to the Speaker with their complaint against the media persons and demanded that strong action be taken.

They also demanded thar the Assembly media passes of the guilty be cancelled.
