To allow the Delhiites a preview of the thrills and excitement of family fun activities in Hong Kong, HKTB will be staging a “Discover Hong Kong Fair” from 6-11 October at the Select CITYWALK at Saket in South Delhi. The 6-day family fun extravaganza allows you to get up close and personal with the popular characters of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Ocean Park Hong Kong, as they perform live in the Indian market. Besides spectacular performances from Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Ocean Park Hong Kong, the fair will feature great deals on tour packages by participating travel agents. Visitors can visit the booths of the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Ocean Park Hong Kong for information on their fabulous forthcoming programmes, or drop in at the booths of three cruise companies to plan their next family holiday in Hong Kong. An array of premium giveaways, fun activities and entertainment await visitors at the “Discover Hong Kong Fair”, so make a date with Hong Kong this week and head down to the fair for some family fun during this festive season.

Hong Kong Halloween Treats
From now to 31 October, it’s a fun-tastic fiesta that will feature a wide range of fun activities, events and carnivals at key attractions plus a host of shopping and dining pleasures at the participating shopping malls and dining outlets. The spook-tacular Halloween-themed fun adventures feature “Nightmare on the Avenue of Stars”, “Haunted Halloween” at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, “Scream” at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, “Halloween Bash” at Ocean Park, street parties & delectable Halloween Treats at Lan Kwai Fong as visitors are entertained with special street performances by the coolest ‘ghosts’ and enormous variety of restaurants and bars that will be filled with scary decorations. Hong Kong Food & Wine Year Spotlight Events
The 10-day celebration of Hong Kong tastes and flavours, from 30 October to 8 November 2009, will bring the excitement of the “Hong Kong Food and Wine Year” promotions to new heights. Featuring fine wine, food and entertainment, the events will comprise four key elements: the first-ever large-scale outdoor wine and dine event in Hong Kong, street carnivals organised by major food districts, a sparkling array of activities put together by the catering and tourism sectors, and a series of dining and drinking offers.
To kick-start the “Hong Kong Food and Wine Year Spotlight Events”, the HKTB will stage the “Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival” – Hong Kong’s first-ever large-scale outdoor fine wine and gourmet event. The spectacle will be held at the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade between 30 October and 1 November (Friday to Sunday), during which visitors and residents can indulge themselves in the perfect pairing of wine and food, as well as enchanting music, against the beautiful backdrop of Victoria Harbour.
Hong Kong Cricket Sixes
Anil Kumble will play for traditional crowd favourites India at the Kowloon Cricket Club from October 31-November 1 at the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes, the longest-running international tournament of its kind celebrating its 15th edition this year. The Sixes has been included by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as a ‘Catch the Spirit’ event to celebrate the global governing body’s centenary celebrations.
Six-a-side cricket is the quickest, most fun-filled version of the game – a feast of world-class players, thrilling matches and big hits. Besides Indian team, the 2009 Hong Kong Cricket Sixes will feature defending champions England, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and hosts Hong Kong. Stars who have taken part include Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar, Javed Miandad, Steve Waugh, Viv Richards, Andrew Flintoff, Shane Warne, Adam Gilchrist, Wasim Akram, MS Dhoni and Sanath Jayasuriya.
Hong Kong WinterFest
The 2009 Hong Kong WinterFest will be staged from end November 2009 to early January 2010 with glittering festive décor and activities. The event will also lend a platform for collaboration between the HKTB and travel trade to stimulate travellers’ interest in visiting Hong Kong for Christmas and New Year celebrations, especially those from short-haul markets like India.
