100 Worli police personnel receive IT training from Mahindra

Mumbai, June 29, 2007: Over 100 police personnel from the Worli Police Station who had undergone an IT training course imparted by Mahindra employees under the aegis of Mahindra's Corporate Social Responsibility program, Esops (Employee Social Options), were given a certificate of participation. Esops is a special CSR program for Mahindra employees that enable them to collectively donate thousands of human hours for various social projects. This Esops initiative was undertaken by the Corporate IT team of Mahindra & Mahindra.
 
The certificate of participation was handed to the successful candidates by the Chief Guest, Mr. Rajnish Seth, I.P.S., Additional C.P. Central Zone, Mumbai, and the Guest of Honour, Mr. Rajeev Dubey, President, HR & Corporate Services and Member of the Group Management Board, M&M. Also present were Special Invitees, Mr. Arvind Tawde, Sr. VP & Chief Information Officer, M&M and Mr. Manoj Lohia, D C P Zone III. Other personnel present included Mr. Sushil Singh, Head, CSR Implementation, Mr. Sridhar Rane, Corporate IT, M&M, who has spearheaded this initiative, among others.
 
Police personnel who benefited from the training include those from the ranks of Constable to Sub-Inspector. The Esops team from Mahindra's Corporate IT imparted training on the Basics of Computers, Internet, E-mail, MS Office, Internet chat etc. Mr. P T Mane, Mr. G. G. Uttekar and Mr. L N Khot, who had participated in the training, recounted their experiences and thanked Mahindra & Mahindra for opening up the world of immense possibilities through IT.
 
Other Esops initiative successfully held across the country include painting of government schools, various blood donation camps, planting trees & saplings, traffic management during festivals, supporting the underprivileged girl child and helping the flood affected people in various parts of the country.
