1st Anniversary Celebrations of the Foundation Day of ’Vigilance Study Circle (VSC M), Mumbai Chapter’

The Mumbai Chapter of the Vigilance Study Circle (VSC-M) celebrated the 1st Anniversary of its foundation at a simple function conducted in the SCI Auditorium on 16th August 2011.  Shri R. Sri Kumar, IPS (Retd), Vigilance Commissioner was the Chief Guest.

There were two Guests of Honour viz:

Padmashri S. Subramanian IPS (Retd), the Founder Patron of VSC, Hyderabad & Mentor to VSC M and Shri S. Hajara, Chairman & Managing Director, The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd.

The following office bearers of VSC M were also on the dais along with the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour:

President of VSC M Mrs. I. Sasikala, IRS, CVO of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., General Secretary of VSC M Shri M.B. Sagar, IPS, CVO of The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd.  Treasurer of VSC M Shri R.S. Bora, CVO of Dena Bank.

 

The function was attended by a large number of CMDs, CVOs and Nodal Officers of member organizations of the VSC M in addition to other invitees and guests including Directors of SCI.

 Vigilance Study Circle (VSC) was first established in Hyderabad on July 07, 2003 and was inaugurated by the Central Vigilance Commissioner. The mission of Vigilance Study Circle is to spread Vigilance awareness and develop the knowledge and skills of Vigilance Professionals. Also it is an endeavour to strengthen the hands of Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) in combating the ever increasing corruption in the country. Chapters of the VSC are already functioning in Bengaluru and Kolkata.

Vigilance Study Circles provide an ideal platform for the Vigilance Officers to meet and exchange their views/ experiences etc. on a regular basis.

Incidentally, the VSC M was inaugurated by Shri Pratyush Sinha, the then Central Vigilance Commissioner in the SCI Auditorium on 19-8-2010.  There are 34 member organizations of VSC M drawn from various PSUs, Nationalized Banks, Insurance Companies, Port Trusts and the  Railways.
