Agarwal assumes charge as MD of State Bank of India

Mr. Yogesh Agarwal has assumed charge as Managing Director & Group Executive (National Banking) of State Bank of India on 10th October 2006. Born in June 1950, Mr. Agarwal joined State Bank of India as a Probationary Officer in the year 1972. Immediately prior to taking over as Managing Director of State Bank of India, Mr. Agarwal was Managing Director of State Bank of Patiala.

Mr. Agarwal, an engineer by training, during his tenure of 34 years in State Bank of India, has held a number of important positions, including those of Chief General Manager of Chandigarh Circle and Dy. Managing Director & Chief Financial Officer at Corporate Centre at Mumbai.

He has also handled two foreign assignments in the Bank's foreign offices at Dubai and Singapore. Happily married, he has two daughters.
