Ashoka Buildcon Limited, one of the prominent Road Infrastructure Companies in the country set another milestone as it received the prestiogious CIDC Vishwakarma Award 2010 in the category- ‘Professionaly Managed Company ( Turnover above Rs.500 Crores). This award is a result of a detailed scrutiny by the CIDC who studied the various practices implemented by the Ashoka Buildcon Limited through out its operations.
Ashoka Buildcon Ltd. was able to bag this award due to its disciplined working methodolgy where Quality, Consistency , Speed and Safety form the guiding factor in generating efficient outputs. It was amongst the first construction companies in the country to achieve ISO 9000 certification, the first Indian Infrastructure Company to receive IMS certification and recently it became the First Indian Infrastructure Company to receive ISO 14064 Cerfication which is a tool for measuring , monitoring and reducing green house gas emissions. The company has proven its performance time and again which can be judged by the fact that in the last financial year the company secured a financial growth of 100 percent , both in terms of turnover and profit. Ashoka Buildcon Limited has an order book of over Rs 2000 crores as on Dec 2009 and is executing several prestigious projects for stat and national government .Ashoka has a significant presence in the Sectors of Highway Development, Power T&D , Toll Automation and Ready Mix Concrete.

ABOUT THE AWARD
The CIDC Vishwakarma Award 2010 took place at the Stein Inda Habitat Center on 7th March 2010. The Chief Guest on the Occasion was Dr. C.Rangarajan (Chairman Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister ).
CIDC, which has its head office in New Delhi, has initiated these awards to promote replicable best practicies in Indian Construction Industry.
