Bateman launches global centre in Pune

Chennai, January 30, 2008: Bateman, leading technology driven engineering-project house serving the minerals and metals industries worldwide, today anounced the launch of its Global Service Centre in India, Pune. This facility will service global units in terms of procurement, design, fabrication & staff recruitment from Pune.

Bateman Global Services will service the worldwide Bateman Engineering Group as a centralized resource centre for core engineering capabilities, including the detailed design of equipment and components required for metallurgical plant projects. It will also provide limited process engineering capabilities, centralized quality assurance and quality control/inspection services, supply chain management and as well as information & knowledge management. In addition, it will have human resource capabilities with a primary focus on global recruitment.

Having worked in more than 50 countries on all six continents and with offices across the globe, Bateman has successfully completed over 1000 major projects. It also has to its credit various award winning project sites (Jungle- Laos, Arctic Circle "� Siberia, Desert- Namibia) which have successfully delivered under extreme climatic conditions.

Low cost strategy benefits for the clients and availability of quality & talent pool have been the key factors for Bateman to select Pune as the resource hub. Bateman Global Services will provide engineering services to functional centers that mainly cater to metals and minerals processing markets. This service centre is well-equipped and geared up to accommodate 250 employees by the year end.
