Sinha (Industrial Development Commissioner, Bihar Govt.) in Delhi. Addressing the press in a press conference organized by Department of Industry, Govt. of Bihar & Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam Limited on Thursday 12 November 2009 in Delhi. Bihar is being showcased as the “land of boundless opportunities” ‘‘Bihar Pavilion”, in 29th India International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan. The Press Conference was addressed by Mr. Ashok Kumar Sinha (Industrial Development Commissioner, Bihar), Mr. K.C. Shaha (Agricultural Production Commissioner), Mr. Atish Chandra, (Chairman of Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam Ltd.), Sri A.V. Chaturvedi, (Resident Commissioner) and Ms. Rashmi Verma (Principal Secretary, Tourism, Bihar).
Ms. Rashmi Verma, Principal Secretary Department of Tourism, Bihar, said, Bihar has enormous potential for development of new product ideas, some of which are the latest craze in the western world today. She said, “The state has an abundance of historical places, Religious Places, Archeological Sites and forts, which can be suitably renovated and opened up for tourism. Spring sites have tremendous potential for health tourism due to their medical values. Bihar has a great potential for features like; entertainment complexes such as amusement parks, water parks, cable car rides, aquariums, casinos, sound and light shows, etc. Bihar has significant potential for water-based tourism and cultural tourism. Bihar has rich cultural heritage which is exhibited through the various fairs and festivals and dances. Ms Verma said, our current Tourism Circuits are divided into Buddhist Circuit, Jain/Tirthankar Circuit, Islamic/Sufi Circuit, Sikh Circuit, Ramayana Circuit, Gandhi Circuit, Nature & Wild Life Circuit and all these circuits will be showcased in the theme Hall of Bihar pavilion. In public-private partnership, Bihar tourism join hand with Holy Day Inn and doing works for open more Five Star Hotels in Bihar, so we invite all of you to visit Bihar pavilion and see showcased of Development in Tourism in Bihar. .
Mr. Atish Chandra, Chairman Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Limited, said during the last three years, a total of 297 nos. of high level bridges have been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 708.48 Crores by BRPNN and dedicated to the people of Bihar. At present Bihar is one of the fastest growing states in India in infrastructure development works. The pavilion will be devoted to the IITF theme of “Exports of Services. He said, the, theme Hall of Bihar pavilion will be decorated on the Theme of IITF 09- “Exports of Services and this year our State vision is - “Bihar- Wisdom- Faith - Science” (Gyan Aastha aur Vigyan ).
The Bihar pavilion will exhibit a combination of Modernity and Tradition.” Bihar Pavilion will also be organizing a Road Show on Opportunity Bihar during the period Trade Fair i.e on 26th of November. He said, "The pavilion will focus on the achievements of the Bihar government in past few years in fields ranging from Art & Culture, Infrastructure, Road, Industry, Power, Irrigation, Education and Social Welfare. The pavilion would showcase a wide range of products apart from models, photographs, charts and scripts to explain the Modern Development in Bihar in the field of investment, infrastructure and tourism and worked by the govt. for creating new business opportunity in Bihar. He adds, apart from our pavilion’s theme- Opportunity Bihar- a reflection of modernity and Tradition, the pavilion will be decorated in keeping with the IITF theme and lay special emphasis on showing the creation and the development of Exports and Service Sector. An information centre for replying to inquiries will also be established. Daily cultural programme based on Bihar’s folk Dance and music will be special attraction on this occasion. Stalls of Madhubani, Mithila, Godna Painting, Handloom Silk & Sari, Applique Bed Sheet, Madhubani Sari, Suzni Work Sari, Laah- Churi will be main attraction of Bihar Pavilion. Bihar’s special foods & Sweets like, Litti- chokka, Tilkut, Laai, Anarsa, Khaza and Lichi juice will be also available at IITF Food Court.
