Launches Mahachetna Abhiyan for staff motivation
Bank of Maharashtra (BoM), a premier Nationalized Bank plans to set up three 3G techno Savvy one stop specialised branches in Mumbai, Delhi and Pune to cater to younger generation and high value clients during the current financial year 2010-11.
“The bank plans to roll out its financial services such as management of personal finances, transactions and payments, trading facilities, news and financial tools to consumers over their mobile phones and personal digital assistants (PDA) through these 3G branches. This is a natural next step to continue the development of mobile banking services in line with our customers' demands for flexibility and simplicity. 3G banking will even more expand our customers' possibilities to use modern technology as complement to personal meetings and contacts” said Mr A.S.Bhattacharya, Chairman cum managing director (CMD), Bank of Maharashtra,while interacting with banks employees of the NCR region here today under the ‘Mahachetna Abhiyan, programme for staff motivation.
“Bank of Maharashtra has already achieved 100% Core Banking Solution (CBS) thus bringing connectivity to all its branches across India and launched Information Technology (IT) enabled services like On-line Share Trading and Mobile Banking. Bank has total of 55 braches in the National Capital Region (NCR) ” Mr Bhattacharya said.
“The bank plans to open 24 new branches across the country this financial year taking the total number to 1532 and 151 new ATM’s thus taking the total tally to 500. At present the bank has 34 ATM’s in the NCR region. The bank expects to Achieve total business of Rs 1,20,000 crore during the current Financial year and reduce the Gross NPA level below 3% and Net NPA below 2%” during the same period. The bank plans to set up atleast five micro Asset Recovery units/ branches in identifiedrural centres to recover NPAs in smaller accounts and arrest further delinquencies in accounts below Rs 10 lacs” he added.
