Central Bank offers Mastercard prepaid cards for Commonwealth Games

>Mumbai, September 02, 2010: Central Bank of India is on the threshold of entering its centenary year. As a befitting gesture, the Bank has been chosen as the exclusive official Banking partner of Commonwealth Games, 2010. The Bank is planning to roll out a series of niche products for its endearing customers during this centenary year.

Being the exclusive official banking partner, Central Bank of India is launching a comprehensive range of Prepaid cards products for the use of the visiting accredited

players/delegates as well as for the Bank’s existing customers as a commemorate on of the Commonwealth Games, 2010.

 

In an exclusive and well attended event today, at The Ballroom, Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Mumbai, in the presence of Bank’s topmost corporate clients/CEOs. Mr. S. Sridhar, Chairman & Managing Director, handed over the first Prepaid Gift card to Shri. Jamshyd N. Godrej, Chairman & Managing Director, Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd.

The Bank offers these Prepaid card variants- Commonwealth cards (a general purpose reloadable card), Gift card & Travel card in USD.

MasterCard, the global card major, is the preferred card partner in these prepaid variants by Central Bank of India. “MasterCard is proud to be associated with Central Bank of India for the event. This gives us the opportunity to launch innovative products, enable efficient transaction processing and offer significant value to CBI’s customer base” said T.V. Seshadri, Vice President & Country General Manager, MasterCard South Asia.

The Bank is also going to offer a Titanium Combi Debit card which offers Pin & signature capability on a single card – a first for Indian Market. Shri S. Sridhar, while dedicating these card products for the customers of the Bank, as well as, the general public said, “innovating and pioneering tailor-made banking products to suit each and every need of customers is a thrusted approach of the Bank” He assured that the Bank proposes to spread out more such products during its Centenary Year.
