DHL Express announces changes in South Asia

Mumbai, 19 September 2007: DHL, the world's leading express and logistics company, today announced senior management changes in South Asia and India. The changes are a result of the recent reorganization of the business that has led to the creation of the South Asia (SA) region within the Asia Pacific. This new SA region will cover India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, Maldives, Bangladesh and Bhutan.
 
 
Malcolm Monterio, Senior Vice President and Area Director, South Asia, DHL Express, said: "India is one of the fastest growing markets for DHL Express in the Asia Pacific region. We are reviewing our organizational structure and identifying the best person for each job. Given the growing needs of the business, it is our people that will make all the difference. I am confident that each of these appointments will lay a strong foundation for future growth of our business in South Asia."
 
 
Key Appointments
 
 
R.S. Subramanian, Area Manager - Rest of South Asia (RoSA)
 
 
Mr Subramanian (Subbu) will focus on building the business in Pakistan, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Maldives. The country managers of each of these markets will report in to Mr Subramanian. Mr Subramanian joined DHL in September 2004 as National Sales Manager and managed the Sales team. Prior to DHL, he was with Hindustan Unilever Ltd overlooking various segments in sales and marketing.
 
 
Devdip Purkayastha, Vice President, Strategic Planning & Business Development, South Asia
 
 
As Vice President, Strategic Planning & Business Development, South Asia, Mr Purkayastha will be a key member of the South Asia Management Board. He joined DHL in 2004 as Head of Global Customer Logistics. He also helped start the DHL Solutions organization and network in India which was later merged with DHL Exel Supply Chain. Devdip also helped establish the AP Strategic Resource Center (SRC) in India to provide in-house support to various AP research projects. Devdip worked for 13 years with P&G in a variety of country, regional and global assignments in India and abroad, prior to joining DHL. Devdip is an engineering graduate from IIT Kharagpur and a Management Post Graduate from IIM Kolkata.
 
 
Ryan Dsouza, National Sales Manager
 
 
Mr Dsouza, was earlier responsible for the Relationship Sales Channel in DHL Express India. He has now taken over the position of National Sales Manager. Under Ryan's leadership, relationship channels have grown significantly. Ryan was also instrumental in building a robust team of Sales and territory managers with focus on quality processes. He was also responsible in renewing focus on the wholesaler channel.
 
 
Sandeep Juneja, National GMNC Manager
 
 
Mr Juneja, who was earlier National Customer Manager DHL Express India, is now National GMNC Manager. He has been a key enabler for Global Mail and Worldwide Medical Express (WMX) services in India. Both these businesses have great opportunities in India and Sandeep with his expertise and competence will be able to take these business units to higher successes.
