Dr. Rahul Mirchandani, Executive Director, Aries Agro Ltd, has been appointed as National Chairman of Confederation of Indian Industry’s Young Indians (CII-Yi) for the year 2009-10.
Prior being appointed as National Chairman, Dr. Rahul Mirchandani has been associated with CII’s Young Indians as a Vice Chairman. He has been associated with CII’s Young Indians since past 4 years and has led the Yi Youth Affairs activities in Mumbai and later nationally
Dr. Mirchandani has worked with CII-Yi members and mentors 3000 students from 41 educational institutions across India in a wide range of community service, self development and nation building initiatives.
Dr. Mirchandani conceptualized the first CII-Yi- National Young Farmers Network, in partnership with Aries Agro Limited, in August 2007 with an objective of knowledge dissemination across young farmers across India regarding agricultural best practices. The network, currently with 5900 farmers in 8 states, aims to use knowledge as a catalyst to bridge the productivity gap in Indian agriculture.
CII Yi works on a range of key nation building initiatives that include education, employability, healthcare, environment, among others. Dr. Mirchandani has also involved Yi Net students from across the country in a 96 hours Race across India and has played a key role in “Be the Change” – the first ever Yi Youth Affairs leadership summit.

Young Indians (Yi) is an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India’s premier business association, formed in the year 2002, with an objective of creating a platform for young Indians to realize the dream of a developed nation. In 2008, Young Indians partnered with CII on the Mission on India@75: The Emerging Agenda, which reflects its aspirational role to facilitate the acceleration in India’s transformation into an economically vital, technologically innovative, socially and ethically vibrant global leader by year 2022. The Yi organisation and activities are today aligned to work towards the goals set in the vision of India@75.
