Eros Intl's major content acquisitions & releases

Eros International, the leading integrated media & entertainment company in the Indian entertainment sector, announced a series of major content acquisitions and a schedule of forthcoming film releases.
 
 
Eros has acquired international distribution rights of 'Darling', which will be released on 7th September 2007. 'Darling' is a romantic thriller from renowned filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who has carved a niche for himself in the industry and features Fardeen Khan, Esha Deol and Isha Koppikar in the lead roles.
 
 
Eros has also acquired the global distribution rights of 'Nanhe Jaisalmer' starring Bobby Deol and young talent Dwij Yadav. The film will be released globally on 14th September 2007. The film is the second film to be released as part of the 5 year output deal with K Sera Sera that was announced in September last year.
 
 
Following the box office success of 'Partner' and 'Heyy Babyy', Eros will be releasing another comedy, 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' on 12th October 2007 in the overseas. Starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Shiney Ahuja, Ameesha Patel and Paresh Rawal, 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' is a comedy-thriller directed by Priyadarshan, the director behind hits like 'Hungama', 'Hulchul' and 'Malamaal Weekly'.
 
 
Following on from the great success of Salman Khan's 'Partner', Eros has acquired the international distribution rights of his next major release 'God Tussi Great Ho' which also stars Priyanka Chopra, Amitabh Bachchan and Sohail Khan. Eros has also acquired the international distribution rights for 'Mehbooba', directed by Afzal Khan and starring Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan and Manisha Koirala. Both films are expected to be released before the end of December 2007.
 
 
On this Mr. Sunil Lulla, President, Eros International, India commented: "Eros has an exciting line-up of releases planned for the rest of the year, backing up the strong films we released in the first two quarters. We are very excited about our forthcoming ventures".
 
 
Eros also announced a major collaboration with White Feather Films Ltd, a premier film production company owned by Sanjay Dutt and Sanjay Gupta, for the acquisition of global film distribution rights. The deal includes approximately 15 films to be acquired by Eros over a five-year period some of which will come from White Feather's art-house division. Films include the distribution of the forthcoming 'Dus Kahaniyan', starring Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and Bipasha Basu among others. This will be followed by release of Sudipto Chattopadhyay's 'Pankh' and Sarthak Das Gupta's 'The Great Indian Butterfly'. Eros will also distribute Sanjay Gupta's 'Alibaug' starring Sanjay Dutt, Dia Mirza and Madhavan.
